Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Infused with the festive essence of peppermint tea, this cozy homemade drink is the perfect way to add a touch of warmth and holiday spirit to your Christmas celebrations. Top it off with some vegan marshmallows, and you’ve got the perfect hot chocolate for the winter season!

Recipe Type: Drinks | Serves: 2

Ingredients

  • Oat Milk: 1 cup

  • Water: 1 cup

  • Peppermint Tea Bag: 1-2 (depending on how strong of a flavour you want!)

  • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder: 2 tbsp

  • Cane Sugar: 2 tbsp

  • Vanilla Extract: 3-4 drops

  • Dark Chocolate Chips: 2 tbsp

  • Vegan Marshmallows: a handful

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine oat milk, water, cocoa powder, cane sugar and vanilla extract. Add in the peppermint teabag.

  2. Slowly heat and whisk ingredients together until combined.

  3. Meanwhile, in a large mug, add in chocolate chips and marshmallows.

  4. Once warm enough, pour hot chocolate mixture into mug, and mix with a spoon. Add more marshmallows if desired. Enjoy!

If you like a sweeter hot chocolate, feel free to add more sugar or sweeter chocolate chips.
My favourite vegan marshmallows are either the Dandies Vanilla flavoured, or the PC Plant Based Vanilla! Both are delicious and add the perfect touch to this recipe!
