Healthy Timbits

A treat without the guilt? This recipe is the answer! Packed with protein and low in calories, these vegan donut holes are a delicious and nutritious snack.

Recipe Type: Snacks | Serves: Makes 20 balls

Ingredients

  • Flour: 3 cups (360g)

  • Yeast: 2 tsp (8g)

  • Avocado Oil: 2 tbsp (27g)

  • Oat Milk: 1 1/4 cups (312g)

  • Vegan Yogurt*: 1 1/2 cups (366g)

  • Cane Sugar: 4 tsp (16g)

  • Protein Powder: 1/4 cup (36g) (I used Good Protein's Salted Caramel All-In-One Superfood Shake)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a stand mixer, and knead until there are no dry bits.

  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and form balls using the timbits dough.

  3. Cover with a damp cloth, and let rest for 1 hour.

  4. After an hour, you’ll notice the balls have slightly puffed up. Preheat your oven to 350, and bake the timbits for 5 minutes.

  5. Let cool for a few minutes, then reshape again into balls.

  6. Bake for another 7 minutes.

  7. Top with icing sugar, cinnamon sugar or a glaze, and enjoy!

If you can't find a vanilla flavoured yogurt, I recommend adding in a little bit of some pure vanilla extract for taste!
*I used the Almond & Cashew Vanilla flavoured yogurt from Yoso for this recipe!
